HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA, FEBRUARY 23, 2021 – Dominion Diving successfully used their Chinook ROV to recover scientific equipment after an acoustic release failure. Following a visual inspection, the ROV attached a line to the lift point. The Chinook had the power and payload capability to conduct the search and recovery in a high current area at 60m depth, mounting a quality sonar and using the SEAMOR gripper arm. Dominion saved the client time and money as the Chinook was mobilized quickly on a small vessel.
The Chinook is portable, powerful and capable in high current areas. It gives us the capability to attach a wide range of instruments to navigate, search, inspect and recover while deploying rapidly and reliably for us at Dominion Diving, time and again. The client was extremely happy with the result of this operation.
