SEAMOR MARINE CONTINUES ITS SUPPORT OF THE COPS FOR CANCER – TOUR DE ROCK

NANAIMO, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA, OCTOBER 7, 2022 – Day 9 of the Tour de Rock brought the riders into Nanaimo – one of the stops for the law enforcement and emergency services personnel who are cycling across Vancouver Island to raise money for childhood cancer research and support services.

SEAMOR Marine was a proud supporter of the Gala dinner that evening that raised $21,152.

The Canadian Cancer Society fundraiser: Cops for Cancer – Tour de Rock is a 1,200 KM bike ride that sees a group of first responders ride from Port Alice to Victoria over 14 days. As riders stop in each community accepting donations from service groups, businesses, schools, and local fundraising events. All dollars raised go to pediatric cancer research, and support services for children and their families.

As a long time Canadian Cancer Society donor, SEAMOR was excited to step up again this year. Partnering with the Nanaimo Dive Outfitters, we donated an ROV Experience for the live auction. The winning bidder will board Nanaimo Dive Outfitters 34’ dive vessel – ‘The Shepherd’. They’ll head out to the Snake Island dive site, an artificial reef created by the sinking of HMCS Saskatchewan a Mackenzie-class destroyer that served in the Royal Canadian Navy. Once there, they’ll become deep-sea explorers with 2 hours to explore this reef, with a SEAMOR Marine ROV Pilot training them on how to fly the ROV.

“Ultimately, we care about our community, and we are committed to contributing to help to make it better.” Inja Ma, SEAMOR Marine Co-Founder & CEO
